Only when you sign a contract for service with us, identifiable personal information will be collected. Although, non-identifiable information is gathered automatically when you visit our website or those websites hosted by us and stored for use in our system.
Smart Data respects the privacy of our clients, as well as the privacy of everyone we host who access our network and websites. In the course of contracting with us, we undertake to protect the confidentiality of our clients and customers for services and any sensitive information that is received. We promise we will not sell your Personal Data to third parties for commercial or marketing purposes.
- COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
Smart Data gathers personal data about our clients when you register for a new service subscription, respond to customer surveys and promotions or contact our helpdesk.

Smart Data may occasionally use your personal information to contact you on promotional offers; advise you on service-related matters and, in some cases, request your feedback. Inside each communication, however, Smart Data will provide you with an opportunity to opt out of receiving all such communications or you can contact our customer service representatives to make sure that you do not receive such promotional information.
We may also log in to the websites you visit; collect IP addresses and information about your operating system and the type of browser you use for our network / system administration purposes; and audit the use of our website. However, this data will not be used to identify individual users, who will remain anonymous at all times. Any information that Smart Data receives from you by communication with us, whether by e-mail, by telephone or by letter, will only be used to resolve the issues inside that communication.
If this requires referring such correspondence within the scope of Smart Data or to a third party to ensure customer service, your personal information will be disclosed only to the point necessary to address your query or concerns, and will otherwise be kept confidential

Any information that customers may disclose to you in a public space, including on any newsletter board, chat room or Smart Data site, is available to anyone else visiting that space. Smart Data cannot protect any information that you are disclosing there.

- TYPES OF INFORMATION
There are two major categories of personal information–identifiable personal data, and personal data that cannot be identified. In general, identifiable data includes a customer’s name, address, telephone numbers, gender, IP address, billing information (such as a credit card number) etc. Non-identifiable data generally includes: a postal code; the date and time sites are accessed (if you gather this); pages visited; (usually done to monitor demand and improve usefulness of the site); the type of browser being used; the operating system and the type of personal computer being used to access the services.
In terms of the Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communications-Related Information Act, 2002, all service providers, including ISPs are obliged to obtain and keep certain identifiable personal data of customers when entering into service contracts. In addition to the above, this includes in a person’s case: Identification number; residential and business addresses; and a valid copy of the Customer ID paper. In the case of a company: all of the above as well as the registration number for the company and a certified copy of the business letterhead for the customer. Although this detailed definition of personal information may be deemed unnecessarily careful, we encourage you to classify or describe any of these criteria as personal data.
Smart Data uses re-marketing of tracking cookies from third party vendors, including the tracking cookie Google AdWords. This means that we will continue to show you ads across the internet , particularly on the Google Content Network (GCN). As always, we respect your privacy and will not obtain any personal information by using the remarketing program of Google or any other third party.
